Certified Translation You Can Rely On
When a document is going to an authority, a court, an embassy or a university, a translation is not only read; it is relied on. The receiving entity needs to know that the translated text says exactly what the original says, and that a responsible office stands behind it.
That is what an official, stamped translation provides. Our translators prepare the translation, a second translator checks it against the original, and the final document is signed and stamped by our office. You receive a translation that can be compared with the original line by line and submitted with confidence.

Faithful to the original
Names, numbers, dates, stamps and notes are translated exactly as they appear, without additions or omissions.
Checked twice
Every document is reviewed by a second translator before it is stamped and delivered.
Ready to submit
The translation is delivered with our office stamp and attached to a copy of the original document.
What Is Certified Translation?
Certified translation is an official translation of a document, prepared by a certified translation office and delivered with its stamp and signature, confirming that the translated text is a complete and accurate rendering of the original. It is the format that authorities, courts, embassies and many universities and employers ask for when a document is written in a language they do not work in.
It differs from an ordinary translation in two ways. First, it is complete: every page, stamp, signature, margin note and table is translated, including the reverse side of the document. Second, it is accountable: the stamp identifies the office responsible for the translation, so the receiving entity knows who stands behind its accuracy. A personal translation or a machine translation does not offer either of these, which is why it is usually refused for official use.
In the Sultanate of Oman, Arabic is the official language of government departments and courts. For this reason, documents issued in other languages usually need a stamped Arabic translation before they are submitted in Oman, and Arabic documents need an official translation into English or another language before they are used abroad.

Who Asks for a Certified Translation?
Many organisations in Oman and abroad ask for an official translation before they rely on a document written in another language. These are the most common.
Government departments and courts
Ministries, government departments and courts in Oman work in Arabic. Documents written in another language, such as foreign certificates, contracts or judgments, usually need a stamped Arabic translation before they are accepted in a procedure or a case.
Embassies and visa centres
Embassies and visa centres usually ask for stamped translations of personal, financial and academic documents. Some require a translation into their own language rather than English, so we confirm the language with you before we start.
Universities and employers
Universities in Oman and abroad ask for certified translations of degrees and transcripts, and employers often ask for official translations of certificates and experience letters during recruitment and work permit procedures.
Banks and companies
Banks, partners and head offices may ask for official translations of company documents, contracts and financial statements, especially when a company works across more than one country.
Because each entity has its own requirements, tell us where your certified translation will be submitted. We will prepare it in the format that entity expects.
How to Check a Certified Translation Before You Submit It
A few minutes of checking can save you a second appointment. Before you submit your certified translation, look at these points.
- Names. Every name should match the spelling in the passport, in every document of the file.
- Numbers and dates. Document numbers, dates of birth and issue dates should match the original exactly.
- Page count. The translation should cover every page of the original, including the reverse side and any attachments.
- Stamps. Each translated page should carry our office stamp, and the copy of the original should be attached.
- Purpose. The language and format should match what the receiving entity asked for.
If anything looks wrong, contact us before you submit the document. We will review it and correct any error in our translation without delay.
Certified Translation for Companies
Companies often need several documents translated together: commercial registrations, Articles of Association, board resolutions, contracts and financial statements. When these documents are translated as one file, the company name, the names of partners and managers, and recurring terms stay identical across every page.
For companies with recurring needs, we keep the terms already agreed for names, positions and defined terms, so later documents use the same wording as earlier ones. For agreements and company formation documents, see our contract translation service, which covers commercial contracts in more detail.
What You Receive with a Certified Translation
When your certified translation is ready, you receive a complete document set that can be submitted as it is.
- The full translation. Every page of the document translated, including stamps, signatures, handwritten notes and the reverse side.
- Matching layout. Tables, headings and the order of information follow the original, so the two versions are easy to compare.
- Our office stamp and signature. Each translated page carries the stamp of our certified office.
- A copy of the original attached. The translation is attached to a copy of the source document, so the receiving entity sees both together.
- Notes where needed. If part of the original is illegible, the translation says so clearly instead of guessing.
Certified Translation in More Than 20 Languages
Most of the translations we certify are between Arabic and English, in both directions. Foreign documents are translated into Arabic for use in Oman, and Omani documents are translated into English for use abroad.
We also provide certified translation between Arabic and more than 20 other languages, including French, German, Russian, Chinese and Spanish. This matters when an embassy, university or authority asks for a translation into its own language, because translating directly into the required language saves you from translating the same document twice.
If the language you need is less common, contact us before you order. We will confirm whether we can handle it and how long it will take before you commit to anything.

Certified Translation, Notarisation and Attestation
Certified translation is often confused with two other procedures, notarisation and attestation. Each one confirms something different.
- Certified translation confirms that the translation matches the original. It is prepared and stamped by the translation office.
- Notarisation confirms the identity of the person signing a document, or that a copy matches its original. It is carried out by a notary.
- Attestation confirms that a document, or the signature or seal on it, is genuine. It is carried out by an official authority, such as the body that issued the document, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or an embassy.
Some files need only the stamped translation. Others need the original document to be attested first, so that the attestation stamps can be translated as part of the text. Because the order differs from one entity to another, tell us where your document is going and we will explain the steps before we start.
Translating Documents Issued Outside Oman
Residents and companies in Oman often hold documents issued in other countries: university degrees, marriage certificates, police clearance certificates, company records and court decisions. Before these documents can be used in an Omani procedure, they usually need a translation into Arabic that the receiving department can rely on.
We translate documents issued abroad as long as they are clear and legible, including their stamps, seals and handwritten notes. When a document was issued in a language other than English, we can translate it directly into Arabic, without an intermediate English version, which keeps the meaning closer to the original.
If the document also needs attestation in its country of origin or by an embassy, complete that step first where possible, so the attestation stamps are included in the translation.

Why an Uncertified Translation Can Cost You More
Rejected documents
Authorities and embassies can refuse translations that are not stamped by a certified office, which means repeating the work and the fees.
Missed deadlines
A rejected translation can delay a visa, an application or a court procedure that has a fixed date.
Errors that matter
A mistranslated name, date or number can create inconsistencies across your file that take time to correct.
